BA ’24
LAU is home to my happiest memories—a place where I forged everlasting friendships, celebrated consecutive successes, and discovered where my true potential lies.
Reflecting on the past few years, I am reminded of my immense gratitude to this institution. In 2022–2023, I was privileged to join the MEPI–TLS Gender Scholars program, an experience that reshaped my understanding of gender discourse under the guidance of incredible faculty. Thanks to a heartfelt recommendation from the MEPI–TLS coordinators, I was honored to serve as a member of the program’s advisory board and a graduate assistant the following year. I simultaneously assumed a leadership role as vice president of the Page Turner Club, dedicating my efforts to reigniting enthusiasm over literature and language on our campus.
A fresh graduate of the English program, I’m proud to say that this university provided numerous opportunities for my potential and skills in the field to prosper, from participation in creative writing workshops and competitions to engagement in diverse courses on literature, linguistics, and writing with the most inspiring professors. I’d like to thank Dr. Rula Diab especially, whose impassioned instruction and unwavering support not only deepened my fascination with language but also contributed largely to my academic growth. As I now prepare for a new stage in my educational and professional journey, I’m sure to remember her invaluable role in encouraging me to become a better and more accomplished version of myself every day.
LAU—thank you for everything.
